CUSP x MOT: Urban Technology Management Knowledge Track
Overview
The M.S. in Applied Urban Science and Informatics program at the Center for Urban Science + Progress (CUSP) and the M.S. in Management of Technology (MOT) program in the Department of Technology Management and Innovation at NYU Tandon offer a joint knowledge track. This unique collaboration bridges urban science, technology, and business, offering an interdisciplinary approach to solving pressing urban challenges. It also enables CUSP students to deepen their expertise within our Urban Technology Management Knowledge Track—one of seven interconnected tracks offered through the M.S. in Applied Urban Science and Informatics program.
Course Offerings and Participation Requirements
CUSP students pursuing this knowledge track must enroll in at least four courses (12 credits) selected from either the MOT or CUSP lists provided below. Enrollment
CUSP students who wish to enroll in one of the approved sections (listed as MOT courses) may register directly through Albert, as these have already been pre-approved.
Please note that seats are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
If you encounter enrollment restrictions due to seat reservations, please carefully review the Class Notes section for specific instructions. If you're still unable to enroll directly, follow the steps outlined in the Class Notes to request access.
As a reminder:
- Taking any three of the MOT courses listed above will count as CUSP electives.
- If you take four MOT courses, the fourth will be counted as a non-CUSP elective.
- Up to six elective credits may be taken outside CUSP from any NYU School, except the School of Professional Studies, with approval from the CUSP Education Team. As such, if you take three MOT courses and one CUSP course, you will still have two remaining non-CUSP electives available to fulfill your degree requirements.
