Besides counseling and tutoring, we provide info sessions on topics important to our students. We also consider your adulting needs as you transition into the next stage of your life. Workshops are provided primarily online on our Brightspace page where you can focus on them during your free time. Some sessions are also offered live.

Financial Aid and Literacy
Financial Aid Counseling
We assist our Scholars in understanding the financial aid process and securing the most appropriate financial aid resources available through individual counseling, workshops, and technical assistance sessions. You can make an appointment to meet with our financial aid contact for additional information.

- Tuition Assistance Program (TAP)

Financial Literacy Education
For those Scholars who want to improve their financial skills, we offer info sessions as well as activities throughout the year. The info sessions focus on topics ranging from budgeting and money management to the basics of investing, while activities include participating in a month-long budget challenge or virtual stock market game. You can meet with our financial literacy contact for additional information.
Well-being and Personal Development
We understand that there’s more to life than being a Tandon student. TRIO Scholars Program takes into account all aspects of your life, as there are many facets to who you are. Our Program’s Counselor has training in mental health & wellness and provides a robust portfolio of services to help you find balance in your life. So, instead of just surviving, you’re thriving!
Just as you invest in your education, consider investing in your well-being. We provide modules that can be viewed at your own pace which give insight into common concerns students face.

- Listening and Communication Skills
- Perfectionism: Healthy vs. Extreme
- Reducing Anxiety & Worry

We also provide a library of useful tools that you can download from our portal that includes; relaxing mandala templates, mood trackers, gratitude logs, sleep wellness guides, nutrition logs, and anxiety reduction tips.
Planning for the Future
Graduate School
For those Scholars who are considering further education, we offer assistance in exploring grad school options and understanding the process of applying to grad school. We provide GRE, GMAT and LSAT prep courses, in addition to information about the application timeline, writing your statement and more.
Career Exploration
As you prepare for internships and the world of work, TRIO Scholars Program can help with your professional development. In the past, we provided info sessions on work etiquette, work culture, and assertiveness. Through our collaboration with the Brooklyn Wasserman Center, our Juniors and Seniors receive opportunities to meet recruiters, perfect their resumes and gain insight to sharpen their interview and elevator pitch skills.

Every semester, we offer an event or local trip where you can have fun and meet with other Scholars.
