Bridging the engineering & innovation communities
Invention, innovation, entrepreneurship:
They're core to both academics and research at NYU Tandon.
As problem-solvers, engineers are inherently innovators. Even if you never plan to start a company, understanding best practices for inventiveness, creativity, and entrepreneurial & design thinking can be valuable for your life and career.
NYU Tandon offers a range of resources to help faculty & students bring new ideas to life — and to market, if that’s the goal — from educational opportunities to ideation support to incubation, including networking, funding opportunities, and space & equipment. We also link the NYU Tandon community to the broader NYU and NYC technology ecosystem through hackathons, workshops, competitions, guest lectures, and tech talks.
NYU Tandon will realize its mission through a wide range of activities such as:
- Generating a nurturing environment for the translation of science and engineering breakthroughs into new technologies, products, and processes in service to society
- Exploring new learning opportunities, like the Engineering Innovation Minor, that will provide students with the basic knowledge and experience of entrepreneurial thinking
- Connecting faculty and students with the NYU Tandon Future Labs, the NexusLabs, PowerbridgeNY, New York Region I-Corps as well as with innovation- and entrepreneurship-related activities across all of NYU
- Linking the NYU Tandon community to the broader NYC technology ecosystem through hackathons, workshops, competitions, guest lectures, and tech talks
