When I joined NYU, I was eager to explore the many paths biotechnology has to offer — from the science itself to the career opportunities it unlocks. I had questions about what areas I might connect with most and where my skills could have the biggest impact. Three years later, I’m glad to say I’ve found clarity, direction, and a strong sense of purpose.

The program not only answered many of my early questions, but also helped me discover what excites me most. The faculty have been consistently approachable and supportive, creating a space where I felt comfortable asking questions, exploring unfamiliar areas, and building confidence over time. Some concepts didn’t always click right away, but once I began applying them in real-world settings, their value became clear.

One of the program’s major strengths is its curriculum. The balance between academics and professional experience through co-ops and internships was key. Being in New York City gave me access to biotech networking events and some of the best research institutions in the country, including NYU Langone, Memorial Sloan Kettering, and Mount Sinai. It was during my time here at NYU that I discovered my passion for virology — a field that has since shaped my career and scientific interests. I’m now working as a Senior Research Technician at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center contributing to the Human Virome Project. For students who are naturally curious and are drawn to both scientific and entrepreneurial thinking — this program is a fantastic choice. It helped shape my path, and I’d confidently recommend it to anyone looking to find theirs
