Headshot of Frances

I came into the Biotechnology program without a strong direction for my career. All I knew was that I was interested in and wanted to learn more about the biotechnology field and industry. Prior to starting my Master’s, I was an undergraduate student at NYU Tandon studying Biomolecular Science. I decided to stay at NYU for my Master’s for multiple reasons. I was also fortunate enough to have an opportunity to take some Biotechnology Master’s classes during my undergrad, which had ultimately piqued my interest in the Biotechnology course catalog.

Through the provided courses I was able to learn more about innovation in the industry. The Biotechnology Master’s classes included a wide array that allowed me to explore my interests, from more business oriented to more bioinformatics and developing molecules using prediction models. Being at NYU also opened opportunities for me to work in research labs at NYU and NYU Langone. In my research lab I was able to see how my work in science could be innovative and beneficial. Following graduation, I have been working full-time at Regeneron in the cell line development team. The courses I have taken have provided me applicable skills and allowed me to learn applicable technologies that I use in my day to day life.
