Bio:

Hi! I’m Hamza, a senior at NYU Tandon School of Engineering majoring in Applied Physics and Mathematics with a minor in Quantum Technology. I’m keen on applying my education across a spectrum of disciplines, from quantitative finance to aerospace engineering to quantum computing. Originally from the Midlands of England, I later moved to Texas for high school, and my Egyptian and Indian heritage has given me a vivid appreciation for cultural diversity; a perspective that feels right at home in the melting pot of New York City.

My academic journey has been shaped by global experiences. I spent a semester abroad at NYU Abu Dhabi, where I took unique classes and conducted research at the Astroparticle Physics Lab. I then studied in Hanoi at VinUniversity, investigating Digital Twin technology for traffic modeling, as well as in Seoul at Hanyang University, where I explored the UN Sustainable Development Goals and Korean language. Back in New York, I’m excited to continue my research in plasma physics and quantum optics, while also serving as Co-President of the Muslim Student Association.

Academia aside, I love to play trumpet and make music, performing with NYU’s orchestras and spending my summers with Drum Corps International. When I’m not rehearsing, you can catch me at Brooklyn’s Pier 5 playing soccer with friends!
