Center for Responsible AI: on the need to train future generation AI practitioners in Responsible AI

Institute Associate Professor Julia Stoyanovich joined Charlie Ovink (U.N. Office for Disarmament Affairs) and Vincent Boulanin (Stockholm International Peace Research Institute) to discuss AI's role in international security. The EU-funded conversation emphasized educating future AI practitioners about societal impacts and responsible innovation. Stoyanovich stressed that responsible AI requires collective decision-making across diverse backgrounds, widespread AI literacy, and practitioner engagement with communities affected by AI systems rather than pursuing technical perfection in isolation.
