Build Your Global Perspective

The skills you develop while studying abroad will add another layer of expertise to your growing portfolio of experiences and better prepare you to address the challenges of the 21st-century global economy.

Studying abroad offers an opportunity to immerse yourself in another culture and engage with people, places, and history beyond the traditional classroom. Living and learning in another country can deepen your understanding of international perspectives, strengthen your adaptability, and help you communicate more confidently across different customs, traditions, and languages.

Study Abroad & Global Opportunities

NYU Tandon students have access to a wide range of international opportunities designed to enrich their academic experience, broaden their global perspectives, and support their personal and professional growth.

We have organized these opportunities into two categories to help you explore the programs available and identify experiences that align with your academic, personal, and professional goals.

Semester Study Abroad

Spend a full academic semester studying at one of NYU's 15 Global Network sites or participate in the Tandon International Exchange Program, which provides access to more than 20 leading engineering institutions around the world. These programs allow students to pursue coursework toward their degree while immersing themselves in a different academic and cultural environment.

Short-Term Global Programs

Explore international opportunities during J-Term, summer, and other academic breaks. Options include Tandon-exclusive experiences such as Global Career Treks and faculty-led programs, as well as coursework, research, and internship opportunities offered by international partner institutions. Students can also participate in programs through Tandon's Global Innovation Initiative (GII).

Explore Your Opportunities: Review the Semester Study Abroad and Short-Term Global Programs sections below to learn more about available programs and how to participate. Each section also includes a dedicated FAQ guide covering academic planning, eligibility, applications, and other important considerations to help you prepare for your experience.
