What attracted you to this program?

I’ve always been fascinated by the intersection of biology and data, and bioinformatics just felt like the perfect fit. NYU’s Bioinformatics M.S. online program caught my eye because it offers flexibility with a solid curriculum that covers the latest tools in the field. Plus, I liked that I could gain practical experience while still balancing everything else I’ve got going on. It seemed like the right way to deepen my skills and keep up with the fast pace of bioinformatics.

What is your favorite class you've taken so far in the program, and why?

The hands-on coursework in the Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) course, particularly the opportunity to work with real data and create an independent project, has been a highlight of my academic experience. Professor Jonathan Flowers' engaging teaching style and research focus on genomics and bioinformatics further solidified my passion for this field. Inspired by his mentorship, I joined his research lab to deepen my understanding and pursue more advanced projects in bioinformatics.
