Through the Global Engineering Education Exchange (Global E3), NYU Tandon master’s students may have the option to participate in a semester exchange at one of the schools in partnership with NYU Tandon after completing their first term in New York. Your eligibility may vary depending on the department you’re enrolled in and the course offered by the partnered universities. See full list of Schools in partnership with NYU Tandon and their course offerings.

If you are interested in the Global E3 Exchange program, please fill in the Tandon Global Account form to receive the newest updates and prepare in advance.

This Exchange program is suitable for:

Students are responsible for researching courses using both the Study Abroad Course List of pre-approved courses and the partner university’s website to ensure the classes they plan to take will keep them on track for graduation. While many courses at partner schools are taught in English, some are not, so it is essential to confirm the language of instruction. We recommend reviewing the course catalogs of 2–3 partner schools and submitting all potential courses for evaluation.

When planning for future semesters, be aware that partner schools often have not finalized their course offerings for the term you’ll be studying abroad. In these cases, refer to the previous corresponding semester’s course listings (e.g., if you plan to study abroad in Spring 2026 and the course list isn’t available yet, review the Spring 2025 offerings). This will give you a strong sense of what courses are likely to be available until the official schedule is released.

Once you have identified courses you're interested in taking, if any are not currently present on the Study Abroad Course List, you will need to submit each new course to be evaluated through the Tandon Global Portal

  • For example, you locate a course in Hanyang University that looks to cover the exact same topics as our Linear Algebra. You would submit the syllabus and other relevant information to the Math department through the online portal to be evaluated.

  • While you are not required to have a finalized list of evaluated courses in the Study Abroad Portal prior to submitting your application, it is in your best interest to get as many courses reviewed as possible up front rather than waiting until closer to your departure should you be nominated/accepted to a partner institution.

Prior to the deadline, please submit your application through our Tandon Global Portal. Reminder, you do not need to have all of your courses evaluated in the Tandon Study Abroad Portal prior to submitting; you can continue to secure approvals/evaluations after submission of your application.

  • In the application, you will be required to submit a personal statement, unofficial transcript, resume, and indicate the courses you're interested in taking abroad.
  • You may apply to up to three exchange programs and rank them in order of preference (1–3). While we will do our best to place you in your top choice, placement is not guaranteed.

Finally, your application materials will be reviewed by a Tandon committee to determine if you will become a Tandon nominee. Students who are chosen as nominees must then abide by additional application deadlines and information set by the partner institutions which Tandon Global will provide to you upon nomination.

Once you have been nominated and accepted to a partner institution, we will provide you with additional next steps to each student individually in their Tandon Global Portal as well as host a pre-departure orientation where we will go over important information.
