Cesar | NYU Tandon School of Engineering
Cesar

I have always loved science and each day at NYU Tandon has strengthened this passion. Besides feeling the excitement of learning something new that I care deeply about I had an intense multicultural experience and I found friendship in ways I never would have imagined. This is the place where I redefined my beliefs and that allowed me to thrive in one of the most competitive environments in the world.

I strongly believe that biotechnology is the field with the greatest room for innovation, particularly in the pharmaceutical and health care industry. This was emphasized throughout the academic program and confirmed again in one of my work experiences as a Market Research Associate. Here I could see how big companies use innovation as an engine to grow, and how multiple startups use science to build a successful business model.

Being in the front line of scientific innovation has always been my dream. MS in Biotechnology & Entrepreneurship gave me a better understanding of the evolving relationship between science and business so that I would have a greater chance of turning research into successful commercial products. And that’s what I do now, working as a Research Associate at NYU Langone Medical School. Our lab works with neurotoxins, developing antidotes and other technologies, such as neural drug delivery platforms. The head of my lab has a biotech startup to commercialize technology we have developed.
