Center for Responsible AI @ NYU
AI, Responsibly

The Center for Responsible AI is a comprehensive laboratory for accelerating responsible AI practices. We are building a future in which responsible AI is the only kind accepted by society.
Our Projects
While important work in responsible data science and AI is already happening throughout New York, the Center for Responsible AI will become a place where that work can coalesce in a fuller ecosystem of research, collaboration, innovation, and expansion.

Applied Research Lab
The Applied Research Lab is conducting interdisciplinary research and developing best-in-class open-source tools and frameworks for responsible AI, equitable data-sharing, increased transparency, and more. We are tapping into the strength of our combined ecosystem partnerships to pilot and take these assets wherever needed.

Talent and Education
The Talent and Education Program is developing standardized curricula to educate computer science and data science students, providing corporate training to current practitioners in the workforce, and informing the general public about responsible AI.
Our first work in education is a comic, Mirror, Mirror, and can be downloaded here.

AI for Good
Using the infrastructure and expertise of the NYU Tandon Future Labs, a private-public partnership with 170 startup graduates and a portfolio valuation over $1.8B, we are establishing an AI for Good startup program, leveraging opportunities to apply artificial intelligence to societal problems that are otherwise overlooked in pursuit of broad capital market opportunities.
