Video Friday: Two Birotors Make a Quadrotor
IEEE Spectrum's weekly robotics roundup featured WorMa, an undulating robot from Assistant Professor Nana Obayashi's lab that shifts water between its head and tail to climb slopes, clear steps, and swim. Placing the water in the head was the only configuration that carried the robot up a 19.5-degree incline, and it cut the robot's cost of transport by at least 33 percent compared with the other configurations.
