Climate fiction is maturing as a literary genre, evidenced by the inaugural UK Climate Fiction Prize offering £10,000 to novels engaging with climate change. The eclectic longlist includes works spanning genres and continents. Prize founder Imran Khan emphasizes that climate fiction can inspire action by painting vivid futures beyond what scientific data alone can achieve.
