Maryland Becomes First State to Adopt Open Law Library for its Legal Code

Maryland has adopted software from the Open Law Library to publish its statewide regulations, becoming the first state to use the platform. The system uses The Archive Framework (TAF), security software developed by Professor Justin Cappos, to protect the integrity of the state's digital regulations from tampering. TAF prevents bad actors from altering regulations online, ensuring citizens can trust what they read. "People who are worried about a nation-state attacking them, TUF is what they use," Cappos said, referring to the underlying technology that powers TAF.
