Electrical Engineering Senior Jose Reynoso, a “Great Mind in STEM”

Jose Reynoso, a Polytechnic Institute of NYU senior majoring in electrical engineering, is featured this week on Great Minds in STEM as a scholar of the week.

Jose is a Dean’s Honor List student as well as the recipient of a NACME Scholar Award, an AHETEMS Academic Scholarship, and a Polytechnic Promise Scholarship. Jose has held internships at General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, Connecticut during both the summer and winters of 2008 and 2009. As an electrical engineering intern, his duties included creating a bode plot for the analysis of input impedance from a power converter module circuit and creating a project schedule for the new testing facilities for future generation submarines.

Jose is also active in campus organizations. He serves as an executive board member of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers and as the vice president of La Unidad Latina, Lambda Upsilon Lambda Fraternity, Inc.

Once he receives his degree, Jose hopes to use his knowledge of electrical engineering to engage in research on improved efficient power generators.

Jose is a 2010 HENAAC-Northrop Grumman Corporation scholarship recipient.

Great Minds in STEM is the gateway for Hispanics in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). Established in 1989, as HENAAC, Great Minds in STEM is a non-profit organization that focuses on STEM educational awareness programs for students from kindergarten to career.
