Work Orders & Service Requests

Any NYU student, staff or faculty can place a work order via the Client Service Center (contactcsc@nyu.edu). When submitting, please include the location and the nature of the issue. For more immediate issues, call 212-998.1001

The NYU Client Services Center is the primary point of contact for service and maintenance requests for the University's buildings. If you have or see a need for maintenance service, please contact them at the following:


Access Control & Key Request

ID Access Control Requests

Only authorized access level approvers should contact the Tandon IT helpdesk at soehelpdesk@nyu.edu. Access requests for employees or students should list an access end date not exceeding one year from the time of the request. For access to labs, employees and students should place their requests through the designated lab manager to ensure all safety and compliance requirements have been met.

Physical Keys

Designated department administrators should place a request for keys via the Client Service Center (contactcsc@nyu.edu). When submitting please copy the Facilities & Operations Helpdesk (tsoe-ops@nyu.edu). Department administrators are responsible for keeping written key logs for any assigned keys and ensuring there is an appropriate system in place for the collection of any keys at the end of an employee’s tenure. Excessive requests by a Department will require a department chartfield.


Furniture Request

Please submit your request to the Tandon Facilities & Operations Helpdesk - tsoe-ops@nyu.edu for the various types of office and building finishes.

* Departments are not allowed to purchase furniture nor make modifications without the approval and sign off from the Tandon Facilities & Operations team.


Renovation & Construction Request

  1. Submit Request: Fill out the New Project Initiation Form on Monday.com with detailed information.
  2. ROM Estimate: Receive a Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) Estimate within 10-15 business days, based on historical data for similar projects.
  3. Final Estimate: Upon approval and funding, receive a detailed Final Estimate with firm vendor pricing. The project team will also prepare detailed drawings, analyze scope and building conditions, and create a verified schedule for final approval.
  4. Project Execution: Upon obtaining final signature, NYU Procurement will issue Purchase Orders. Equipment and materials will be installed according to the agreed schedule and budget. The Facilities Project Manager will provide progress updates, addressing any budget or schedule risks.
  5. Journal Voucher / Cost Recovery (if applicable): After the completion of any Campus Operations-led projects funded by a department chartfield, a journal voucher will be processed to transfer the actual costs incurred. An email with additional details will be sent prior to initiation of the transfer.
