Invention, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship
i2e: Our Legacy

Our Culture of Doing
Invention, innovation, entrepreneurship: they're core to both academics and research at NYU Tandon. From first-year students through faculty, our engineers jump in, turning inspiration into applications, technology, and services that can compete in the market and improve the world.
What we do makes us who we are.
From your first days at Tandon, you can:
-
Pitch commercially viable ideas for real-world problems at Tandon’s annual InnoVention Student Competition and the NYU Tandon Made Challenge for incoming students.
-
Take on 10 weeks of hands-on research in faculty labs during the Undergraduate Summer Research Program.
-
Learn the skills required to bring products and services from concepts to market with the Engineering Innovation Minor.
-
Work alongside faculty from Tandon and other schools within NYU on immersive, engineering-based design projects in the Vertically Integrated Projects Program.
-
Join a collaborative design project and prototype your ideas in our 10,000 square feet MakerSpace.
-
Access international competitions, workshops and industry events at the largest student-run cybersecurity event in the world, Tandon’s Cybersecurity Awareness Week.
