Global Challenge: Drive the development of scalable carbon capture technologies
Bio:
Zeca is a BS student at Tandon, pursuing a degree in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. Tracing his background to northeastern Brazil, he is deeply fascinated by the power of engineering and green science working together to protect and restore natural landscapes, especially in developing countries.
While not currently in a research role, Zeca is deeply interested in exploring the use of natural enemies to control agricultural pests and support small farms in his home country
Starting fresh at NYU, Zeca dedicated time to community work through Project Outreach. During his first year, he also explored rocketry by joining Rogue Aerospace, one of NYU's Vertically Integrated Projects (VIPs). Currently, Zeca is joining ChemE Car, a VIP focused on creating eco-friendly vehicles.
With GLASS, Zeca is excited to expand his academic endeavors beyond NYC. He believes that being immersed in a network of leaders and actively engaging with other cultures and countries is essential to shaping the profile of a globally minded engineer.
Outside of academia, Zeca is passionate about books and music, in particular when he can combine the two. Back in Brazil, he loved spending time at the beach, whether playing amateur volleyball or simply enjoying some quality time alone.
