Global Challenge: Sustainable Cities/Public Transportation

Bio:

Edward is a student studying Applied Physics and Mathematics at Tandon. He is from Minneapolis, Minnesota, but has interest in learning and applying what he learns all around the world.

In terms of jobs/internships, Edward is a tutor for Thinking Caps Group in NYC, where he helps middle and high school students in the city become more independent learners, emphasizing his value towards education. He is also a cashier at a grocery store in Minnesota, a job he has had for 3 years, where he has found a great community.

Edward is also involved in other programs at NYU, including the VIP Team, Project Mjolnir. This team’s goal is to design and build an open-source mountain bike accessible for wheelchair users. He is also part of NYU’s chapter of the Institute of Transportation Engineers, attending events related to his interest in public transportation.

As a part of GLASS, Edward is very excited to give his learning a global scope, and to gain more leadership skills. He aims to focus on the Urban and Sustainability areas of excellence and the global challenge of making cities more sustainable.

Outside of academics, Edward enjoys biking, swimming, and exploring the city and the world.
