Global Challenge: Health and Equity

Bio:

I am a sophomore double majoring in biomolecular science at the Tandon School of Engineering and public policy at the Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, following a pre-med track. I have lived in Virginia Beach, Virginia, for most of my life, but I was born in Manuguru, India.

I am greatly interested in how policy impacts equity in healthcare and look forward to pursuing a career in healthcare, specifically in orthopedics or neurology. Because of my passion for orthopedics, I am an undergraduate researcher at Lionnet Lab, where I am currently exploring the importance of certain regions of the RUNX2 gene and its IDR on osteogenic differentiation. Additionally, I am constantly learning more about the healthcare system in New York compared to more suburban areas through volunteering as an Emergency Medical Technician and as a research associate intern at a hospital.

In my free time, I love traveling and painting to de-stress. I also enjoy hanging out with my friends and visiting different piers in New York. I look forward to studying abroad at NYU Abu Dhabi spring semester and learning more about medicine.
