Tell us about the job search. Was it more difficult or easier than you expected?
It was always going to be difficult coming into a recruiting season during a pandemic looking for a full-time position. Difficulties such as hiring freezes and visa restrictions meant I had to be strategic and methodical in my applications. I did not have much luck landing many interviews so I took every opportunity as it came. Recruiting via campus channels meant employers already have an understanding of the academic rigor and curriculum, leaving more time to showcase yourself.
What was the interview process like?
There were three rounds of interviews, each with a different partner at the firm. All rounds were at max 1 hour in length with 20 minutes of behavioral/fit questions, 30 minutes of a case interview, and the rest of the time for Q&A. The 1st round also consisted of an online assessment testing your numeracy and quantitative analysis skills.
What will you be doing?
I will be an Associate Consultant representing the firm in conducting client interaction/presentation, desktop research, quantitative analysis, and interviews.
Do you have any job search tips for fellow students?
Don't fret and keep at it. More often than not your shortcomings in technical interviews can be made up by being personable and showcasing your personality during behavioral. Treat each interview as a two-way conversation with the goal of learning more about each other and the firm.

When did you first start the job search & how long did it take you to get an interview?
I began at the start of the fall semester (Early September). Interviews began in mid October.
