Qingnan (James) Zhou is a senior research engineer at Adobe specializing in digital geometry processing, computational fabrication, and simulation. He leads Project Lagrange, the robust geometry engine powering 3D capabilities across Adobe’s creative tools. His research focuses on making 3D processing and fabrication workflows more reliable, expressive, and accessible, spanning injective mesh parameterization, tetrahedral meshing, and design tools for soft object fabrication. Qingnan holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from NYU’s Courant Institute, a master’s degree from the University of British Columbia, and a bachelor’s from the University of Waterloo. He has authored numerous publications in ACM Transactions on Graphics and continues to teach as an adjunct professor at NYU.
