RoboMaster Team UltraViolet represents the crossroads of competitive eSports and engineering design challenges. Our team is tasked with designing and upgrading up to 8 robots, each with their own individual design rules, as an intersection between computer science, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and other disciplines. We utilize a variety of cutting edge technologies given to us by our industry partners to achieve these goals, from MCAD and ECAD software like SolidWorks, ANSYS, and Altium, to our own custom OpenEmbedded Linux distribution running ROS and an ML model for Computer Vision detections. Engineering robots are only half the battle – the robots are then used as “characters” in the competition, where a mix of good strategy, marketing, and skillful driving are required to succeed and place well. We’ve never placed outside of the top five in the world at our yearly competitions, so if you enjoy high octane sports and games alongside utilizing your skills with our industry standard techniques and knowledge, this team is THE place for you.
