Tennis Heads to Finals; Softball to Semi-Finals
Yesterday was a great day for NYU-Poly athletics. The Lady Jays softball team won its 19th game in a row (6-3 over Old Westbury), sending the team to a semi-final match up on Saturday against the Farmingdale Rams. And the men’s tennis team beat Farmingdale (5-4), granting the team its first-ever appearance in the Skyline Conference Championships.
The Lady Jays take on the Rams at 11:00 am at Floyd Bennet Field. A win against the Rams will put the Lady Jays in Sunday’s finals at noon (also at Bennet).
The tennis championship will be held at St. John the Baptist High School in West Islip, NY at 11:00 am Saturday. The winner will receive the Skyline Conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament which begins May 14.
