It’s possible to remove the forever chemicals in drinking water. Will it happen?
New research shows that water filtration systems designed to remove PFAS "forever chemicals" also eliminate other harmful substances, including cancer-linked disinfection byproducts. The study found trihalomethanes dropped 42% and haloacetic acids decreased 50% after PFAS treatment installation. Assistant Professor Bridger Ruyle said: "In the lab, you can do all of these controlled studies...But when you're talking about the real operation of a water facility," many variables affect treatment effectiveness.
