Prof. Poudineh Headshot

Prof. Poudineh directs the IDEATION Lab, where their long-term objective is to combine real-time health monitoring with targeted drug delivery using functional nano/biomaterials. Prior to joining NYU, she was an Associate Professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Waterloo from 2020 to 2026. While at Waterloo, Poudineh held a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair in Health Monitoring BioNano Devices and received early promotion to tenure in 2025. During 2023-2024, she visited MIT on a six-month sabbatical leave, hosted by Prof. Robert Langer. Poudineh earned her PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Toronto in 2017. She then completed postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Toronto and Stanford University School of Medicine. Her research is highlighted in Nature and Science, and she holds the Johnson and Johnson WiSTEM2D Scholars Award and Ontario Early Research Award.
