TANDONx Series: A Reckoning with Environmental Justice and Building Sustainable Paths Forward
The Office of Student Life and Services invites you to a pivotal conversation as part of the return of the TANDONx Series at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering. Join us as we hear from NYU faculty on the front lines of climate research discuss the intersectionality of environmental justice and social equity. We will also learn how we can amplify the voices of marginalized communities, foster empathy, and drive change for a more inclusive, climate-conscious world.
This conversation will feature some of the brilliant minds and advocates at NYU such as:
- Professor of Urban Informatics & Director of Citizen Science, Debra F. Laefer, Ph.D.
- Associate Clinical Professor, Co-Director of the Critical Voices Working Group at NYU, NYU Climate Change Initiative, Leo R. Douglas
- Adjunct Professor and Co-Director of the Critical Voices Working Group at NYU, NYU Climate Change Initiative, Manny Patole
- Private Equity Process Engineer at Bloomberg LP and NYU Tandon Technology Management Graduate student, Laneika Lyons-Payne
Student participants who attend will be entered into a raffle where 2 winners will receive a bundle of sustainable luxury items!
Lunch will also be available to participants at the event’s pre-reception.
