Movie Screening: The Big Uneasy

Academic

For NYU Community

Do you think Hurricane Katrina was a natural disaster? You don't know the half of it.  Humorist and New Orleans resident Harry Shearer examines the man-made disaster that was Hurricane Katrina by following the troubles faced by two independent research teams and a whistleblower.  Mr. Shearer's documentary focuses specifically on the ineptitude of the Army Corps of Engineers and touches on many other problems faced by our society (ex. failures in journalism, American stubbornness, etc.).

Join us for a screening, complete with movie-style refreshments, with a discussion led by Professor Jonathan Soffer after the film.

Presented by the Sustainable Urban Environment program with help from the Honors Enthalpy Council and Society of Women Engineers.
