Summer Course for High School Students -- Building Information Modeling
BUILDING INFORMATION MODELING IS THE DESIGN MEDIUM OF THE FUTURE
You are invited to join NYU-Poly for a four-week summer course on Building Information Modeling (BIM), a program that enables engineers to design structures in three dimension.
MORE ABOUT BIM
Building Information Modeling (BIM) is a process which allows you to not only “see” a structure in three dimensions, but also to give it intelligence. This program will teach you the basics of modeling in three dimensions and provide an opportunity for you to see how such ideas are turned into reality.
THE CURRICULUM

Over a period of four weeks, you will learn how to develop both architectural and structural models for a steel building using AutoCAD/Revit. You will also learn how the construction of a project is planned using state-of-the-art software, and how barcodes and sensors can be used to track building components and create a time-lapse visualization. Finally, you will prepare a report and presentation for the New York Building Congress and the New York Building Foundation.
Applications for the BIM summer program are no longer being accepted.
