FOCUS: Smart Grid

Lecture / Panel

For NYU Community

What is the Smart Grid? Why do we need it? Who will benefit from it? What are the various aspects of the Smart Grid (energy generation, energy transmission, energy distribution, smart metering, smart appliances, grid security and robustness, etc.)? What will the costs be and who will bear them? What are the differences/similarities between public perception and acceptance of the Smart Grid in the US vs. Germany? Our panelists will address these and other important questions at this evening event. The roundtable meeting will begin with introductions from our experts before opening up for questions and discussion with the audience. The roundtable will be followed by a networking reception with refreshments.
