Alumni Gathering in Hobe Sound, FL

Academic

For NYU Community

Please join NYU-Poly in beautiful Hobe Sound, FL for an evening of casual networking and good company at the home of Ralph & Lyn Ianuzzi.  Hear an update on the work being done by the Polytechnic Institute Alumni Association, and the exciting things happening as Polytechnic continues to  build its affiliation with New York University.

Featured Guest: Peter Hodder, PhD
Dr. Hodder is the Director of Lead Identification for Scripps Florida, and was integral to Scripp’s Research successful application to become one of only four National Institutes of Health comprehensive screening centers for its Molecular Libraries Program.

With over a decade of research experience in the pharmaceutical industry and academia, Prof. Hodder specializes in the implementation and leadership of high-throughput screening (HTS) operations. At Scripps Florida, his HTS group employs sophisticated technologies to test large (several hundred thousand member) compound collections for drug-like activity. To date, his group has successfully completed more than 70 industrial and academic HTS-related collaborations. Most important, these collaborations have identified and characterized several "lead" compounds with drug-like properties. Prof. Hodder is also an adjunct professor at the Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, and is engaged in the discovery of novel antibacterials.
