Curriculum
To complete the Management of Technology M.S. program, students are required to earn 36 total credits and fulfill the following requirements:
- 4 Core Courses (12 credits)
- 3 Technology Management Tools courses (9 credits)
- 1 Capstone course (3 credits)
- 12 credits of Electives
Up to 9 of the 12 credits of elective courses may come from across academic departments at Tandon. Students also are encouraged to explore courses from schools outside of Tandon. With the exception of students within the Cybersecurity Management Knowledge Area, students must have completed at least 18 credits and have a CGPA of 3.4 or above to take courses outside of Tandon. Prerequisites may be required to enroll in electives.
Students may elect a unique focus by creating a curriculum that includes courses across the prescribed knowledge areas: Cybersecurity Management, Digital Strategies and Innovation, Project Management, and People Analytics.

Capstone
All Management of Technology students are required to complete a capstone project. The course is taken in their final semester. Students will complete this requirement by taking MG-GY 9503 MOT Capstone Project Course.
Policies for Management of Technology M.S.
All Management of Technology M.S. students must adhere to all NYU university-wide and NYU Tandon Graduate Academic policies including maintaining:
- 3.0 cumulative GPA in all coursework
- 3.0 cumulative GPA in core classes and capstone
- Continuous enrollment in the degree program (or receive an approved Leave of Absence)
Course Offering Pattern
Experiential Learning for Credit
At NYU Tandon experiential learning opportunities provide students the chance to engage in practical, hands-on learning to refine technical and leadership skills. The Management of Technology M.S. program allows for students to complete various opportunities for credit counting towards degree requirements. In adherence with NYU Tandon Graduate Academic policies, students may not complete more than a combined total of 9 credits of project, guided studies, readings, or thesis toward fulfillment of the MS degree requirements.
Vertically Integrated Project (VIP) (VIP-GY 5XXX) - 1.5 credits
Vertically Integrated Projects (VIP) provides opportunities for students to gain hands-on experience and develop tangible industry skills in multidisciplinary, project-based courses, which are beneficial for academic and professional goals.
Students enrolled in the Management of Technology M.S. program can enroll in the VIP course and earn credits (maximum of 3 credits over 2 semesters) toward the elective requirements of the degree program. The VIP course for credit is given a letter grade (A-F).
Management of Technology M.S. students interested in taking VIP for credit must have a 3.4 or above CGPA and 18 completed credits. For students interested in taking VIP for 0 credits, there is no CGPA requirement, nor do students have to have completed 18 credit hours. However students must have attended Tandon for at least 1 semester before they can register for a VIP 0 credit course.
