Time-Distance Engine Optimization | NYU Tandon School of Engineering

Project Type:
Data Science/Business Analytics
Project Sponsor:

Seismic Technology Manufacturer

Students worked on improving the operational efficiency of seismic surveys for a company that develops, manufactures, and sells seismic exploration products employed in oil, natural gas, and mineral exploration. Students calculated the optimal path from the starting location to multiple task locations, considering factors like distance, environmental obstacles, and time windows. An algorithm was created to drive decision-making while minimizing time and operational costs and maximizing service quality.
