The Department of Computer Science and Engineering invites applications for multiple full-time Faculty Fellow positions, starting in Fall 2027.

Applications will open later in Fall 2026. The Faculty Fellows Program aims to support promising early-career scholars with expertise across computer science. Faculty Fellows will do research, both independently and with an NYU faculty mentor, and will also teach 1 course per semester. We anticipate a 9-month salary in the range of 90-100k, with an additional 20k housing allowance and opportunities to earn a summer salary.

Job Description:  

The Faculty Fellows Program aims to attract and support promising early career scholars with expertise across computer science. The program provides Faculty Fellows with mentoring, professional development, and academic networking opportunities, to prepare them for faculty positions in computer science at top universities. Faculty Fellows will do research, both independently and with an NYU faculty mentor. They will also teach 1 course per semester. The initial appointment is for one year, beginning in September 2027, and is renewable for a second year.

Fellowship benefits include an annual housing allowance (up to $20,000) and an annual allowance for research expenditure of ($5,000). An additional summer month is also covered by the department, with the option for the designated Faculty Mentor to provide additional two months from grants or discretionary funds.

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary (9-month) is $90,000 for the Faculty Fellow position.

Qualifications:

Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Information Science, or a closely related discipline by the time of appointment. We will consider factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering invites applications for full-time, non-tenured, renewable faculty positions in Computer Science at the level of Industry Assistant Professor or Industry Associate Professor, with a start date of September 2027.

Job Description

Industry Professors at NYU Tandon are core members of our instructional faculty, dedicated primarily to pedagogical excellence, curriculum development, and student mentorship. Key aspects of this position include:

• Focus: Classroom instruction and educational innovation; there is no research requirement.
• Teaching Load: Standard full-time teaching load (typically 3 courses per semester / 6 per academic year across undergraduate and graduate levels).
• Service: Contribution to departmental service, such as curriculum committees, student club advising, and program development.
• Contract Term: Initial multi-year renewable contract with clear pathways for promotion.

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary (9-month) range for this position is:

• Industry Assistant Professor: $119,000 – $145,000
• Industry Associate Professor: $114,000 – $166,000

Qualifications:

We invite applicants for classroom and laboratory teaching in all areas of Computer Science, with particular emphasis on algorithms, software engineering, artificial intelligence, machine learning databases, operating systems, and cybersecurity.

Required: Master’s degree (MS) or equivalent in Computer Science or a closely related discipline, along with demonstrated teaching effectiveness or substantial industry background.

Preferred: Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related discipline, a strong record of industrial practice, or experience designing modern, hands-on CS curricula.
