Global Challenge: Virtual Reality Technology for Education

Working to help others on a global scale requires humility, passion, curiosity to never stop learning, and above all, empathy. I want to join the modern push for social change, innovation, educational advancement that connectivity brings.”

Bio:

I am an undergraduate student at New York University studying Integrated Digital Media. Born and raised in the Bay Area, California, I love playing piano and French Horn, as well as hiking in state parks near my hometown. I enjoy working with children and encouraging positive views on mental health. In 2019, I worked on a research project studying the intersection between Autism Spectrum Disorder and racial inequality in the United States. This led me to coordinate with a local non-profit to organize an event that helps high school students with autism or other mental health challenges find adult services as they transition into adulthood. I also co-founded an after-school science education program at a local elementary school after budget cuts limited in-class activities. Now, I am in charge of the magazine layout and design for an organization that focuses on educating the public about eating disorders and positive body image. I also currently work part time as a digital content creator for a luxury jewelry company, but seek to branch out into different uses for digital media and technology.
