Student Resources and Support Services
The NYU Tandon community has a wide range of talents, interests, and needs. We are committed to providing the services and resources needed to benefit each and every student.
Housing and Dining
NYU has services and offices to simplify the New York City housing process. Visit the Housing and Dining website for information on off-campus and residence halls.
Brooklyn Residence Halls
The Jasper Kane Cafe and Bridgeview Market accept meal exchange, dining dollars, campus cash, cash, and credit card.
NYU Courtesy Meals is a program designed to provide short-term meal assistance to any student in need by providing Dining Dollars directly to your NYUCard that can be used at campus dining locations.
How it Works
View a list of locations where Courtesy Meals are distributed.
Don't feel comfortable making the request directly? No problem, any NYU staff member may contact one of the above offices by phone to request the Courtesy Meals on behalf of a student.
- Who qualifies?
- Any currently enrolled student: graduate or undergraduate, resident or commuter.
- Is it confidential?
- Because Courtesy Mealsare delivered directly to a student's NYUCard, Dining Services will track who utilizes this resource. This information will be kept confidential, although we will look at basic demographic data to better understand usage trends.
When students use Courtesy Meals at a dining location, there is no identifier or other indicator of the program. It is a "regular" NYUCard transaction, indistinguishable from any other meal plan use.
- Can a student use this program more than once?
- No student will ever be turned away.
In recognition of students' desire for privacy and ease of use, first time requests will be granted with "no questions asked." If a student requests Courtesy Meals two or more times, their request will be approved and we will also initiate a conversation to learn more about their circumstances so we can be of assistance going forward, and, if appropriate, connect them to other resources to provide them with assistance for any long-term concerns.
University Transportation offers several Bus Routes connecting the campus. The system generally operates during the fall and spring semesters when classes are in session from 7:30 a.m. to midnight on weekdays. View a Real Time Map of bus locations.
Route A goes from the School of Engineering to the Washington Square Campus.
Safe Ride vans provide all overnight service. Safe Ride is an on-demand, shared ride service which is available for transportation to and from NYU facilities during the Academic Term from midnight to 7:00 a.m. Learn more about SafeRide.
NYU Airport Shuttle
The Department of Campus Safety, in partnership with SuperShuttle, provides airport shuttle services between NYU Residence Halls or Kimmel Center and LaGuardia and JFK International airports to NYU community members (students, faculty, and staff). Guests of NYU community members can also sign up for the service, so long as they are accompanied by the NYU community member.

Many students report wanting to use safer sex supplies but do not due to lack of money or fear of judgment when purchasing them. The distribution of free safer sex supplies on a university campus can be effective in increasing condom use, reducing new cases of sexually transmitted infections, and preventing unplanned pregnancies.
Be knowledgeable about where free condoms are available on campus. For NYU students who choose to be sexually active, free safer sex supplies are available in the Student Activities & Resource Center, Dibner LC223 and the Student Health Center, Rogers Hall Lower Level B020.
Supplies are also available at NYU Central Health Promotion Office (stop by the 3rd Floor of 726 Broadway). Staff and Health Leaders are also available to answer any questions students may have about safer sex, contraception, or sexually transmitted infections. The Student Resource Center, LGBTQ+ Center, Center for Multicultural Education and Programs (CMEP), and all of the residence halls have condoms free available to students in communal spaces.
A lactation room located in JB (Jacobs Administrative Building) Room 256K is available to women students, faculty and staff. In order to access the lactation room, you will have to go to the main security desk of 6 MetroTech and ask for the key.
