  • Design and create an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle

The team will create an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) that utilizes computer vision and various sensors to guide itself and complete various tasks determined by the competition organizers each year. The AUV will be thoroughly developed through hardware/electrical design in CAD software, prototyped, manufactured, and tested prior to the competition. In addition, software-based engineering, research, design, and architecture will serve as the foundation of the project.

Goals

  • Compete in the international annual RoboSub competition
  • Create an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV)
  • Complete a series of tasks, incorporating computer vision, mechanical design, and electrical engineering
  • Create a website with filmed skills video and write a technical design report (TDR)
