All NYU students can join a VIP Team by enrolling in a VIP course. VIP Teams will accept new students at the beginning of each semester.
Applications open when registration begins for the upcoming semester. Spring 2024 applications open on November 14th and will close on January 16th at 5:00pm EST. If you know what teams you are interested in, apply early! You can apply to as many teams as you like, then choose one team to join and enroll. Please note some teams have a limited number of slots and have a rolling deadline. VIP Teams usually notify accepted students via email before the add/drop deadline. To check on the status of your application, feel free to email the VIP team. If no contact information is listed for a team, email email@example.com.
VIP Recruitment. If you want to find out more about the program and teams before applying, you can participate in a VIP info session or event throughout the semester, or visit us at Club Fest. For additional information, you can contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Last day to enroll in VIP is the same as the NYU registration Add/Drop deadline. There are no exceptions. Check the NYU Academic Calendar for exact dates. If you have been accepted to a team, and are having trouble enrolling in Albert, please email email@example.com for assistance. Students must be enrolled in Albert to participate in a VIP team.
Apply and Enroll
All students apply to join a VIP team using the "Apply to this Team" link on each VIP team page. The applications are generally similar for all teams (Example VIP Application). When a student is accepted to a VIP team, they will receive enrollment instructions and a permission code via email from the VIP team.
Notes for Applicants:
- New students are primarily selected based on motivation, interest, and commitment toward the project expressed through the application.
- Most applications are accepted, unless the team is full.
- Contact the VIP team directly, or firstname.lastname@example.org, to follow-up regarding an application.
Variable Credit Structure:
The VIP Program operates on a variable credit structure in which all new students and most returning students enroll for one (1) credit per semester. Students who grow into positions of leadership and specialization may enroll for two (2) credits per semester. Read more about the credit policies for VIP.
