Drawing on traffic-camera data from NYU Tandon's C2SMART research center, a study summarized in the NBER Digest found that New York City's congestion pricing program cut total emergency medical service travel times by roughly a minute near the pricing zone's boundary, an improvement researchers linked to sharp drops in vehicle and truck density in the area.
