Tech roundup: NYU's new VR hub, Grand Central Tech announces new roster and more

NYU selected as home to NYC’s virtual/alternate reality hub

NYU's Tandon School of Engineering is now home to a virtual/alternate reality hub, funded by the Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment and NYC's Economic Development Corporation. It will nurture companies that rely on AR/VR and help mark the city as a destination for the new technology. Several institutions were being considered, but NYU was chosen for its vast experience in the space.
