Student-Built Robots Compete in Downtown Brooklyn
Robots the size of toasters crawled through a series of challenges this past Sunday at the Polytechnic Institute of New York University (NYU-Poly) for the Brooklyn qualifier of the annual FIRST LEGO League (FLL) robotics competition.
Crowds of youthful supporters cheered as roughly 30 elementary and middle
school teams — with names like Flying Bison, Blood, Sweat, & Gears and Blizzard-Bots — put the LEGO robots they had been building and programming since September through their paces on tabletop playing fields.
