Startups make products from the carbon in fossil fuels
Startups are developing technologies to convert carbon from fossil fuels into commercial products instead of releasing CO2 into the atmosphere. Air Company, a member of NYU Tandon’s Urban Future Lab (UFL), captures CO2 that it turns into products including vodka and hand sanitizer. Frederic Clerc, Director of the Carbon to Value Program at the UFL, said "It's the economics that need to command this. These days, in the U.S., it's all about economics. It's not really about the environmental benefit."
