Startup Honest Buildings raises $13 million from the likes of Brookfield and Rudin

Major real estate firms decide to invest in tech platform after using it themselves

Honest Buildings is a graduate of the Urban Future Labs at NYU Tandon.

A New York City startup that streamlines construction projects for building owners raised $13 million from investors including Brookfield Office Properties and Rudin Ventures, the firm announced Wednesday. The Series B funding adds to the roughly $17 million Honest Buildings has already collected from investment firms and large real estate companies that use the platform. Honest Buildings claims to shave about 5% of time and money off certain projects, such as creating new office space. … The product works by digitizing and streamlining many of the contracts, change orders and bids that complicate construction projects. The platform then crunches that data to give users better cost estimates of their projects and to let them plan more efficiently.
