Softball Heading to Ithaca for NCAA Regionals

NYU-Poly opens against Lebanon Valley College


Indianapolis, IN - The NYU-Poly softball team will be heading to the Ithaca Region for it's first-ever NCAA Softball Championship appearance. The Lady Jays will face the Dutchmen of Lebanon Valley College in their opener on Thursday, May 13th at a time TBD. The 8-team, double-elimination tournament runs through May 17th, with the winner heading to Wisconsin for the NCAA Softball World Series.

Lebanon Valley (31-11) punched its ticket, for only the second time in school history, after falling to #9 Messian College in the Commonwealth Championship game, 4-2. Dickinson College (19-17), another Commonwealth member, is also in NYU-Poly's half of the bracket along with the host, Ithaca College (30-13). Ithaca has appeared in the national tournament an NCAA record 23 times, with only one title in 2002.

Teams in the other half include Cortland State (38-6), NEAC Champions Keuka (23-8), Freedom Conference Champions King's College (22-16), and first-timer Alfred College (34-6).
