Robot Uses Pump to Shift Weight to Tackle Land and Water
Assistant Professor Nana Obayashi and PhD student Daniil Filimonov built WorMa, a worm-like robot that pumps water between reservoirs in its head and tail to shift its weight, letting it crawl, climb steps and swim without changing its gait.
