NYU-Poly clinches home-field with wins over Mount
Brooklyn, NY - The NYU-Poly women's softball team defeated Mount Saint Mary College Wednesday afternoon and in the process clinched the regular season Skyline Conference Championship. The Lady Jays will now host the Skyline Softball Championships on Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday.
NYU-Poly swept both games 5-2 and 11-3 (5 innings) to extend its winning streak to 18 games, a school record. The Lady Jays finish the regular season at a program best 28-8 and 13-1 in the Skyiine.
Tomorrow NYU-Poly will host #4 seed Old Westbury in a single game which kicks off at 4:00pm. The conference playoffs are a double-elimination, meaning the winners of tomorrow games will play at 11:00am on Saturday and the losers will play at 1:00pm. A third game will follow at 3pm, which will eliminate all but the last two teams. Those teams will play on Sunday at 12:00 and 2:00 (if necessary). All games will be played at Floyd Bennett Field.
