NYU-Poly, Cornell, Columbia Among Colleges with Highest ROI; Yale at No. 60


Led by New York University’s Polytechnic School of Engineering at No. 18, seven schools from New York, and one from Connecticut have made PayScale’s list of colleges with best ROI. At No. 60, Yale University was the sole entry from Connecticut.

Claremont, Calif.-based Harvey Mudd College topped the list of value colleges with a 20-year net return on investment of $985,300. Rounding out the top three were Caltech, and Stevens Institute of Technology, based in Hoboken, N.J.

With the average college student graduating with almost $30K in education loans, and with total student debt in the U.S. crossing $1 trillion, college education has to now be treated as an investment, PayScale said.
