New York City Agrees to Profit-Sharing Deal With N.Y.U. Quantum Lab
New York City announced a nearly $30 million investment in NYU's new Quantum Fabrication Facility (QFab), a research hub intended to advance quantum technologies and support startups. Backed by $284 million in public and private funding, the facility is expected to open in 2030, support approximately 100 companies and create more than 15 faculty positions. The city will receive a share of proceeds from intellectual property developed using city-funded equipment, an arrangement intended to allow public investment to generate future returns.
