New Lily Stent Design Could Shorten Recovery Time After Bariatric Surgery
Assistant Professor Khalil Ramadi and postdoctoral researcher Parima Phowarasoontorn developed the Lily stent, a six-part drainage device for gastric leaks after bariatric surgery, built on the counterintuitive finding that exterior surface geometry, not interior volume, determines how fast fluid moves around a stent.
